In the movie The Wedding Banquet, Wei is a gay who has a successful career, live happily with his boyfriend Simon in the United States, trouble comes from his parents and he needs to use a variety of tactics to deal with the parents who force him to get married over and over again . Wei was forced to be a good son in his parents’ eyes and wrote a letter claiming to get married in the United States, however he did not expect that his parents want to stay and witness him to get married. In this case, he faked his marriage with a artist from Shanghai who calls Wei Wei.
His parents were quite satisfied with wei wei, but they were dissatisfied with wei tong’s hasty attitude. In order to make his parents to stop worrying about him and return to Taipei as soon as possible, wei tong did everything he could. But the ceaseless twists and turns make the return date of parents postponed again and again, make the relationship of he and Simon on the edge of falling apart, and wei wei was pregnant with his child. It seems that wei can only choose to be a “outwardly normal” man in front of his powerful parents (tradition).
It seems to be a set of simple, direct and irreconcilable contradictions: the son is white collar, parents are traditional old people; The son is gay and the parents are looking forward to grandchildren. Homosexuality, whether in the sense of procreation or in the emotional mode itself, cannot be seen in traditional Chinese culture. However, China’s powerful family ethics, deep unconscious culture-psychological factors, as well as the deep affection for parents, have become the fettor of the son, he can not get rid of the responsibility, not to cut off the family. According to the foreign way of dealing with it, this may be regarded as a Hegelian tragedy — the conflict between personal freedom and family responsibility, which finally sacrifices at least one party, the conflict is reconciled, the unity of opposites. And in the end of the film everyone steps back and goes far: parents tolerate their son’s sexual orientation, sons divorce their wives but keep their children as a continuity of a clan.
In 2016, Sun Wenlin had taken the civil affairs beareau to court, since he wasn’t allow to legally get married with his boyfriend. This is also the first case of gay marriage equality in China, and it actually happened in my hometown Changsha. However, they lost the lawsuit. It is suggested that 2% to 5% of the population LGBT, China has a population of 1.4 billion, then there might be 28million to 70million of LGBT. And the homosexuality in China was documented since ancient time. I do hope one day that they could achieve equality in same sex marrriage and marry to whoever they want.

The Bravest is based on real event, at about 18:00 on the evening of July 16, 2010, a CNPC oil pipeline near Dalian city harbor caught fire and exploded, and the event is called Xingang port Oil Spill. After more than 2,000 fire officers and soldiers struggled through the night, as of the morning of the 17th, the fire had basically been extinguished. One person was killed and one was seriously injured in the accident. At least 50 square kilometers of sea near Dalian was contaminated with crude oil.
The main scene in the movie is a few huge oil tanks, how big are they? It is 22 meters high and 80 meters in diameter, which is larger than a football field. Therefore, in the real fire, there are a total of 59 oil tanks as large as the football field, plus chemical tanks for high-risk goods such as toluene, xylene, cyanide, etc. The consequences will be tragic. According to the calculations of the relevant departments, the explosion equivalent of all oil tanks and chemical tanks in the fire was more than 2 million tons of TNT, while the explosion equivalent of the Hiroshima atomic bomb “Little Boy” was about 15,000 tons TNT. The explosive equivalent is 20,000 tons of TNT. So if you calculate the destructive power of the real events, it is 133 atomic bombs in terms of “little boy”, 100 atomic bombs in terms of “ fat man“, and 20 atomic bombs in terms of W78. In order to close the valve, one valve needs 80,000 revolutions, and they need to close four valves, which is 320,000. And in the movie, they changed as 8000 for each valve in order to reduce the difficulty but in fact it is 80000.
The main line of the film’s narrative is to put out the fire, and the plot shows the scene of the fire scene in a comprehensive and substantial way. The director is committed to let the audience participate in the entire process of putting out the fire, and truly feel that the work of fire fighting group is very difficult that requires bravery. Even if there are a lot of disaster relief scenes with a strong sense of oppression, the film does not make people tired in the sense of visual perception, the fine and tender emotional plot helps to neutraliz audience’s sensory stimulation by the fire scene.

The movie A Brighter Summer Day is based on a true story, the story was set in Taipei, the fourth grade boy of Jianguo Middle School was a good student who has nothing to do with the school gang. His father was a law-abiding civil servant. His mother was a substitute teacher in elementary school and moved to Taipei from the mainland in 1949. There are 5 children in the family. The eldest sister wants to give up the desire to go abroad in order to help the parents to bear the burden of the family, but her mother does not agree; the second brother and the fourth are very quiet, the third sister is a devout Christian, humble and patient; Zhang Zhen is The fourth in the family, so called the fourth; the youngest girl in the family is a fast-growing little girl. The fourth and Xiao Ming, a unfortunate girl were very close to each other, and both have feelings for each other. Hani, the boss of the “Small Park Gang”, also became obsessed with Xiao Ming. Xiao Ming’s father died early, and her mother placed all hope on her. She matured prematurely, and at the same time circulated among several boys.
In the mathematics exams, because of plagiarism, and later his father went to school to negotiate on this issue, but in the end because of dissatisfaction with the bureaucratic tone of the school leader, there was a dispute with the school leader, The fourth got a big demerit.
Due to the dispute between the gangs, Hani went to fight against the “Fangcun Gang” alone, and was pushed under the car wheel by the opponent’s boss, Shandong. The fourth took part in the siege of the “Fangcun Gang” to revenge for Hani, Shandong was killed. The father of The Four was allegedly politically forced to write confession materials and was dismissed. Because he was obviously being persecuted so he became a bit nutty; his wife was dismissed from teaching because he was implicated. The Fourth was ordered to drop out because of the collision with the school, so he was preparing to study hard for the transfer to the other department.
Xiao Ming’s mother went to Ma Shiling’s house as a maid. Ma Shiling’s son Xiao Ma was a friend of Xiao Si, a precocious but loyal teenager. Xiao Ming lived in his house because of his issues with his mother. The events in the family and school made Xiao Si unbearable. He felt like that Xiao Ming had changed, and Xiao Ming ’s relationship with Xiao Ma caused Xiao Si to fall into a conflict of friendship and love, and he quarreled with Xiao Ma. At the old book market on Guling Street, The Fourth saw Xiaoming and confessed his feelings for her, but Xiaoming refused. The out-of-control Xiaosi stabbed Xiaoming with seven knives, and Xiaoming died on the spot. The Fourth was arrested and sentenced to death in the first instance. This was the first case of juvenile homicide after the Kuomintang authorities moved to Taiwan. After various disputes, the Taiwan High Court tried 15 years in prison.
The duration of the film is almost 4 hours which portrayed the transformation of a\their youthful age. The film integrated the background of the era into the young people ’s life. The background of time and the blending of the two make it possible to see the turbulent era in Taiwan, and it is thought-provoking and resonating. The pain of growth, the tender love, and the ugliness of the world can all be meticulously integrated here. In this brutal youth, the complicated but clear characters, the turbulent but not messy narrative, Zhang Zhen’s acting skills are also vividly reflected in this work.

In the movie Dearest Tian Wenjun and Lu Xiaojuan were once a loving couple. However, the feelings between the two were exhausted by time and quarrel. Eventually, they chose to divorce. Now, the only hub connecting the two is the lovely son Tian Peng. However, one day, the only bond was broken. Tian Peng disappeared for no reason when he went out to play, in despair and collapse, Tian Wenjun and Lu Xiaojuan embarked on a long journey of finding children, and met many hopeless parents along the way.
As time passed by, a clue about Tian Peng surfaced, prompting Tian Wenjun and his wife to come to a remote village, where they saw a boy resembling Tian Peng, but the “mum” of the boy ’s was not Lu Xiaojuan, but a village woman named Li Hongqin.
As the movie progressed to the second half, as the plot developed, the theme of the entire movie began to be clear, not only began to interpret the entire story within the moral framework, but also began the interpretation of the entire story within the three frameworks of moral, emotional tie and law.
The child is found, definitely should follow his own parents in accordance with the law. The whole thing is undoubtedly within the framework of the law, but time is a complicated thing. As an adult, time may be just means day by day, but as a child who is trafficked on a very early age, time is something that will give them a family relationship, just like in this film the boy forms affection to li hongqin who is not his real mother.
Not only did the child’s living habits change within two years, but the whole concept began to change. He was more comfortable with his parents, his current life, the love of parents that he is receiving now. This is a very painful thing for their biological parents, who is searching them for so long. That their own child have settled in a new life, a new life that without them.
Nearly 200,000 children are trafficked in China each year, this is an alarming number. And this film is actually based on real event, i guess the only lucky thing in the film after Tian Peng was trafficked is that he was raised by Li Hongqin. The film also demonstrated social phenomenon like the dereliction of duty.

The movie Kang Rinpoche is the story of eleven Tibetan’s pilgrimages. These eleven people live in the same village and belong to several different families. The year the story took place was 2014, the horse year of the Tibetan calendar.

Before going out for pilgrimage, a lot of preparation work needs to be done. Pilgrims will make apron from sheepskin. In Tibetan Buddhism, the Year of the Horse is the year of the birth and enlightenment of Shakyamuni, and it is also the birth year of Kang Rinpoche. During this year, the gods will gather in Kang Rinpoche. In normal years, pilgrims come here to go around the mountain, and wash away the sins of their lives. Going around the mountain for twelve times can save the suffering of hell. Going around 108 times people can become a Buddha in this life. In these eleven people, consist of the elderly, the pregnant women, the butchers, and the disabled children, went on their way of pilgrimage. Along the way, they encountered a lot of things is whether big or small, some people were injured by rocks, pregnant women gave birth to children, along the way, they also constantly met locals and other pilgrims.
In the eyes of the ordinary people like me “Kang Rinpoche” is just the name of a mountain, it may be a magnificent mountain, but in the eyes of countless Tibetan Buddhist believers, its significance is far more than that of a mountain. In Tibetan Buddhism They believed that Kang Rinpoche was the dwelling place of God, representing infinite happiness, and that the pilgrimage to mountain Kang Rinpoche on its natal year would increase their merits by multiple times. The Tibetans, including children, pregnant women, butchers, men, women and children, their road of pilgrimage, built the pulse of the movie.
On a year-long pilgrimage, this team of people of different ages they were all persistent. On this road full of suffering and danger, no one have ever hesitated. The devotion of the pilgrims in the film is nothing short of impressive, and the film itself only shows this kind of piety in the original ecology, without deliberate sublimation, without questioning the faith, or even giving too much to the scenery of Tibet. From this perspective, the film is so simple, and the placement of the plot makes the story fuller, but also highlighted the light of the good in their faith.

“Raise the Red Lantern” is directed by Zhang Yimou in 1991 and the story is set in the republican period of China. This work has won many awards at home and abroad. The film does have its uniqueness. The film is adapted from Su Tong’s novella “Wifes and Concubines”. In inheriting and promoting the original theme and style, Zhang Yimou’s unique visual effects and heavy historical and cultural background are also penetrated. It reflects the relationship between people within the feudal family under the ‘‘ polygamy ’’, the life scene of secret fighting and the corresponding principles of survival.
During the period of the Republic of China in the 1920s, there were a Chen mansion located on a certain town. The rich man Chen Zuoqian has his wife Yuru, her second mistress Zhuo Yun and her third mistress Mei Shan. 19-year-old female college student Song Lian was forced to drop out of school and marry into Chen’s house due to a change in her family, and became the fourth mistress of Chen’s father. According to Chen ’s rules, when Mrs. Chen is going to spend the night in his aunt ’s house, a red lantern will be hung high in front of the aunt ’s house; Wrap the red lantern in a black cloth cover and hang it high to show that she is no longer favored.
When the young and beautiful Song Lian entered the Chen Mansion, she was involved in the open fight between the wives and mistresses. Song Lian, who gradually fell out of favor, so she pretended to be pregnant and became the beloved one of chen. But Yaner discovered the truth while washing her clothes, and told the matter to her second mistress Tai Zhuoyun, Song Lian was then ditched. Before Yan’er whistleblower, Songlian discovered that Yan’er was hiding old lanterns, she also want to be one of chen’s mistress. She originally planned to keep a secret, but then she discovered that Yan’er was whistleblowing, and then she exposed the matter. Yaner knelt on the snow but refused to admit her mistakes and eventually died.
Yan’er’s death made Song Lian’s trance and depression, and she vent by drinking. After a drunkenness, she inadvertently broke the secret of her third mistress, Meishan, and Dr. Gao. Mei Shan was hanged in the penthouse of Chenfu. Song Lian collapsed into a lunatic. In the second year, Chen’ mansion ushered in the wife of the fifth house mistress.
The excellent control of the color not only made the ” Raise the red lantern” highly ornamental, also made this movie to have a strong visual impact. Songlian which played by Gong Li as the core character, she transformed from an educated college student into the desperate mistress and turned her life into a prison cage, and distorted the normal human nature, thus making a strong criticism of the feudal darkness.

the movie that i am introding today is about child molestation and the harm that are posed by the bystanders to the victims. The film Angles wear white revolves around Xiaowen and Xiaomi. Xiaowen is a 12-year-old student who lives with her mother after her parents divorced. One day, Xiaowen and her classmate Xiaoxin were taken to the hotel by high official President Liu and sexually assaulted. This apparently will become the shadow that accompanies Xiaowen and Xiaoxin throughout their lives. However, what is more terrible than sexual assault is that as a victim, Xiaowen was point finger to and even cast blame on her. The hospital inspected Xiaowen twice and got different results. The first time the doctor said that Xiaowen was sexually assaulted , and the second time the doctor was bought up, he said that Xiaowen’s body shows no sign of being sexually assulted. Disregarding Xiaowen’s feelings, the doctor publicly published the test results in front of the media, which means that Xiaowen will face people’s judgement at a very young age. In addition, the police forced Xiaowen to recall the night’s encounters on the grounds of investigating the case, constantly reminding Xiaowen of the most painful experience of her life, and constantly causing Xiaowen to suffer secondary damage. Instead of comforting Xiaowen, Xiaowen’s mother cut Xiaowen’s hair. She did n’t condemn the criminal, but instead condemned the victim and blame her for dressing inappropriate.
On the other side, the hotel’s waiter Xiaomi witnessed the incident through CCTV and recorded the whole thing with her phone. She had solid evidence of President Liu’s crime, but in order to keep the job with a monthly salary of less than 600 yuan, she said nothing.
The film did not focus on the victim’s painful response as usual , more in a calm but violent way to show the secondary damage caused by bystanders. The values, trends and prejudices of the current society, mobile phones and the Internet, and even the trend culture among children are familiar to us but we do not know anything about it. Both Xiaowen and Xiaomi, and even their parents and others around them, are victims of the dark side of this social distortion.

In the movie Police story, detective Chen Jiaju was trained by the police swat team, he is upright and dedicated. During a roundup of drug trafficking groups in a log cabin, he arrested Zhu Tao, a big drug lord. The police arranged that Zhu Tao’s female secretary, Salina, would be the prosecution witness. Chen Jiaju was instructed to guard Sarana day and night, but the two were attacked by Zhu Tao. On the day of the trial, Salina disappeared. Due to insufficient evidence, the witness did not appear in court, Zhu Tao was released in court, and Chen Jiaju was demoted. Afterwards, Zhu Tao lured Jiaju to the villa where Salina was imprisoned. Zhu Tao sent his men to kill a police officer framed Jiaju, Salina escaped. The police issued a wanted circular order to Jiaju. Jiaju began to go into exile. Although he returned to the police station to plead his innocence, but they don’t believe it. In panic, he seized his boss as his hostage to leave the police station and look for the murderer on his own. At this time, Salina ventured into Zhu Tao’s office and stole the evidence, but unfortunately was found by Zhu Tao and snatched back the evidence. At this time Jiaju arrived, and turned into a dogfight, and finally arrested the criminal in the mall. With the assist of Salina, he finally proved his innocence.
The film filled with tension and excitement, it also created a precedent for Jackie Chan‘s life-threatening performance of dangerous scenes, which became a characteristic value of his later filmmaking. During the shooting, Jackie Chan was almost paralyzed due to spine damage and pelvic dislocation. Lin Qingxia and Zhang Manyu’ performance all have their own merits in the film. The film is a milestone for Jackie Chan’s transition from a Kung Fu boy comedy to a modern police hero positioning. It is a masterpiece of Jackie Chan’s action movie. In the film, Jackie Chan and his team members pushed through the limit of the human body which is truly amazing. I highly recommend people who like kungfu related movie to watch this film.

In the movie Blind Mountain, the 22-year-old female college student Bai Xuelu met Hu Xiaoxiao, a passionate and generous girl, when she was looking for a job in the 1990s. Enticed by job opportunity and money, she and Hu Xiaoxiao took a car to go to a mountain to purchase Chinese herbal medicine. After a long journey they came to a small village. However Bai Xuemei was drudged and when Bai Xuemei woke up on the next day, she discovered that Hu Xiaoxiao and her boss were gone, and she did not know where she was. Bai Xuemei was told that she had been sold by her ‘family’ to 40-year-old farmer Huang Degui as his wife. Only then did she realize that she had been tricked by the traffickers.
Bai Xuemei wanted to go home, but was rejected by Huang Degui. In the evening, Huang Degui went to bed to sleep with Bai Xuemei, but she refused to be in the same bed with him. The angry Huang Degui raped her and locked her in the house. Bai Xuemei will be beaten and scolded if she resists a little. Bai Xuemei has lost her freedom ever since and is forced to live in a strange and savage village. Bai Xuemei, who is very tough and brave, keeps looking for opportunities to escape. But no one in this enclosed village is willing to help her since she is a stranger to them. Instead, they helped Huang Shougui keep her under strict supervision. She was caught back every time she fled, and beaten in public. The selfishness and indifference of the villagers and the malfeasance of local officials and police kept her there. Later Bai Xuemei was pregnant and had given birth to a boy, which made the Huang family relaxed a bit that allows her to get help. With the help of Li Qingshan, a junior high school student, Bai Xuemei made contact with his parents. Because of the obstruction of the villagers, the two policemen who came with his father could not rescue Bai Xuemei, so they negotiated and decide to rescue Bai Xuemei secretly. One day, with the help of the police, she finally escaped the mountain village, but her children had to stay there.
From 1991 to 1995, the official number of rescued abducted women was 80,555. I can imagine those women who have been trafficked are raped, forced to have children, and separated from the outside world for life, but I have never thought about the various struggles they have come across in the process, nor the attitudes of those outside the “event”. Perhaps the creator of social crime is never an individual, nor a small group. It is a society’s overall crime, a direct crime, a common crime for the people who pretend to be ‘blind’ and ‘deaf’, and for us blind observers. This kind of “blindness” that cannot be overcome is legal blindness, illiteracy, and even bystander’s blindness.

During the eight years of Japan ’s war of aggression against China, 200,000 Chinese women were forced to become sexual slaves of the Japanese army. At the beginning of the film “Twenty-two”, there were only 22 “comfort women” survivors in mainland China.
Wang Zhifeng (1928-) 89 years old from Hainan. Wang Zhifeng’s eyes narrowed when he smiled, and you could still see her beauty when she was young. The younger son asked her more than once: Dad’s condition is so bad, why did you marry to him? She said: The women who have been ruined was looked down upon. At the age of 16, she went out to pound rice, encountered Japanese soldiers, and then was arrested in a comfort station, dug trenches during the day, and worked as a comfort woman at night. After being abused and beaten, she soon became ill and ulcerated. Her father and brothers gathered money to redeem her. From 1939 to 1945, during the six years of occupation of Hainan Island, the Japanese army set up more than 70 comfort homes. There were thousands of comfort women. Most of them died of illness, committed suicide, and were killed. At the end of the war, there were less than 100 people. Wang Zhifeng is one of the survivors. Because of the disaster, she still has a white scar that is more than ten centimeters long and two fingers wide on her fibula on her right leg, which often hurts at night.
Wang Zhifeng is one of the Twenty two, and now the number had down to 8. I have been educated since i was very little to remember history and never forget the national shame. They are the victim of the war, perhaps by the time they all pass they might not get the justice they want. But their traces will never be erased and they will always be remembered.
